About Midia International Port

STORAGE

The Midia International Terminal covers a total port area of 177,626.90 sqm, of which 54,890 sqm of concrete platforms and 70,152 sqm of cobbled platforms, of which 50,000 square meters of a cobbled platform, are destined for customs warehousing. Midia International Port Terminal is fenced and benefits from human and video security and surveillance. The port' land belongs to the Romanian state and is under a multi-year contract concluded with the landowner, namely the Maritime Port Administration.

The Midia International terminal has an annual operating capacity of more than 300 ships through four operational berths. The total length of the berths is 340 ml, the projected draft is 9 meters and the operational draft is over 8.5 meters, and simultaneous loading/unloading operations of 4 vessels are possible.


GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION

Midia International Terminal, is one of the Romanian seaports located in southeastern Romania, in northern Constanta with direct access to the Black Sea and the Black Sea Danube Canal. River transport on the Danube is one of the most advantageous modes of transport due to the low costs and the high volumes of goods that can be transited, thus, representing an efficient alternative to road and rail transport. Since 1982, the beginning of the construction of the Midia Port Terminal, it enjoys a good geographic position, representing one of the main gateways to/from the Far East from/to Europe. as well as the first export facility for live animals in Romania.

Midia International History

Since the '80s, Midia International Terminal has become the main establishment of a livestock loading terminal.

Due to heavy traffic and commercial demands of countries in Eastern, Western and Central Europe, it was necessary to smooth traffic of goods from the port of Constanta, this determining design and execution of a livestock export facility in Midia Port.
